Since having kids I've lived in two neighborhoods that have Little Free Libraries. These libraries have given us so many good books and it is a walkable activity when the weather is nice.
We love our public library too but having this down the street is wonderful. Plus, not having to schlep everyone in and out of their car seats is a real bonus. Not to mention the constant shushing I do at the public library. Oy!
A Little Free Library is a book exchange where everyone is invited to take a book and leave a book. Todd H. Bol built the first one in 2009. Anyone can start a Little Library! You can build your own and register it or buy a kit or prebuilt.
As you can see by the pictures, my kids love bringing their books to donate. We also scored an animal sticker book, Halloween activity book (he doesn't care that it is February) and a Lion King book.
We have really enjoyed ours and I am so thankful to our neighbors for putting one in our neighborhood.
